Farmfair International Supreme

The Farmfair International Supreme is one of Canada's most prestigious cattle competitions, bringing together elite purebred cattle from across Western Canada. Throughout the fall show season, animals earn their place in the Supreme by winning designated qualifying events hosted by breed associations and major livestock shows. 

The competition showcases outstanding cattle genetics, superior breeding programs, and the dedication of producers who spend years developing their herds. 

Animals cannot enter the Farmfair International Supreme directly. Instead, they must first qualify at an approved partner event. 

Qualifying animals then advance to Farmfair International, where they compete against winners from other breeds and qualifying shows. 

Only registered purebred animals are eligible to compete in the Farmfair International Supreme. 

The journey begins at qualifying events held across Alberta and Western Canada. 

These events identify exceptional cattle representing breeds such as: 

• Black Angus

• Red Angus 

• Hereford

• Charolais

• Simmental

• Limousin

• Speckle Park

• Shorthorn

• Maine-Anjou

• Gelbvieh

• Salers 

Additional breeds may be represented through qualifying competitions and special invitations. 

Earning a spot in the Farmfair International Supreme is a significant achievement. Many of the industry's top breeders, exhibitors, and cattle programs compete for the opportunity to have their animals evaluated alongside some of Canada's best genetics.

For producers, a Supreme qualification represents recognition for years of breeding, management, and herd development. 

For spectators, the Supreme offers a chance to see some of the finest cattle in the country compete in one ring.
