B.E.E.F INTERNATIONAL – A New Global Competition to Grow the Next Generation of Livestock Leaders
Farmfair International is proud to announce the launch of its newest and most ambitious international program: the Battle of Emerging Elite Farmers (B.E.E.F. International). This international competition, taking place from November 4 to 9, 2025, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, will welcome young agricultural leaders from around the world for a hands-on, industry-driven experience in the heart of Canadian cattle country.
Designed for young adults aged 18 to 25, B.E.E.F International is a two-part competition that blends education, innovation, and global networking:
Monetize Your Trip to Farmfair – An entrepreneurial pitch competition where teams identify opportunities for their country to collaborate with Canada and develop strategies to promote and market Canadian genetics and cattle systems in their home countries.
Interbreed Herdsman Competition – International participants will evaluate all Farmfair exhibitors, selecting the top herds based on quality, presentation, and professionalism. The top five will compete in a live judging session, with the overall winner announced during Farmfair’s Supreme Show.
Participants will also enjoy a pre-tour of the City of Edmonton, exclusive access to Western Canadian purebred cattle ranches near Edmonton, and attend cattle fitting and showmanship sessions, offering a comprehensive look at Alberta’s capital and the Canadian livestock industry.
Each international team will consist of four competitors, selected by their country. Teams are encouraged to bring a coach. In its inaugural year, B.E.E.F International aims to host five teams, including one proudly representing Canada.
A total of $5,000 in prizes will be awarded. Support may be available to help offset travel and accommodation costs.
The application form and schedule will be available soon.
